I’m originally from New Orleans, the heartland of soul food, and I really believe in feeding your soul. But soul food to me isn’t just about fried catfish, cornbread and collard greens. It’s about indulging in the richer things in life, connecting with the ones you love, and a sense of comfort and nostalgia. That’s what pudney is all about; a birthday cake that takes you back to your childhood, indulging in something delicious with friends and family. It’s cakes made with love, just like your momma made em.

I’ve been baking since I was a little kid helping my mom in the kitchen. As I honed my skills I began baking treats for her to give as Christmas gifts, and now...I love making cakes!
I really got serious about baking when I decided to bake 27 cakes in 6 months to celebrate my 27th birthday. And now I hope to make delicious and beautiful cakes for you!
Pudney was inspired by the first cake I ever made and loved, a Texas style chocolate sheet cake. Based on a recipe from my dad’s childhood neighbor Pudney, this cake was a staple for every birthday in our house, and maybe it'll become one of your favorites too!
